It’s been a long week –
illness and injury,
hospitals and updates,
Rosaries and holy candles.

A difficult week!

But today’s different –
a short drive to Antrim town
where we explore parts
that we’ve never seen before.

A wander along the banks
of Six Mile Water
where deep purple bluebells
surround beech trees
and hillsides are swathed
in starry white wood anemones.

The gentle sound of splashing
from the flowing river,
bird song in the trees,
freshness in the air,
peace all around.

A far cry from the motorway traffic
of Belfast!

But the highlight of the day
is yet to come –
a friendly toot-toot
from a choo-choo
when we wave to a passing train.

A peaceful interlude
during worrying times –
so refreshing
(and so necessary!)
