The sun shines this morning
lighting up the hedge
in the laneway
and banishing the rain
of the past few days –
thank you, Lord!

Every day
Paul’s back gets
just a wee bit better –
thank you, Lord!

Each morning
we are one day closer
to Aoife’s return from Brazil –
thank you, Lord!

Chokky bikkies for brekkie
every single day
cos I’m on holiday –
thank you, Lord!

Every morning
we watch eagerly
to watch for a young hare
as he explores the garden –
thank you, Lord!

And every evening
we enjoy a wee dander
along quiet, country roads
where we make discoveries –
a castle and a bees’ nest –
thank you, Lord!

A whole ten days
of poring over maps,
as we explore county Mayo
and enjoy precious family time
together –
thank you, Lord!
