Through the frosted glass
of the landing window
I catch a glimpse
of pink sky
so I hurry downstairs
hoping to see
a beautiful sunrise.

Wow!

Through the kitchen window
I see fluffy peach clouds
rippling across
a pale pink sky.

I stare in joy and wonder
at God’s early morning
work of art,
his “Welcome to today” message
to me
and to people everywhere.

Thank you, Lord,
for such a wonderful,
heart-warming
start to my day!
