As I enter the Easter Vigil Mass
I am very much aware
of my own shortcomings
and weaknesses.
Then a reading from St Paul begins
and I hear that
“our former selves
have been crucified with Christ”.
These words resonate within me
and I am filled with a sense
that this is not a time
to dwell on past failings.
Instead,
it’s a time for letting go,
a time for looking forward,
a time to hope.
I have a sense
of being gently cradled
in the loving kindness of My God.
And as I leave the Easter Vigil Mass
I am filled with hope.
