Many years ago
in my student days
I bought a book called
“He and I”.
In it, the author,
Gabrielle Bossis,
recounts a series of conversations
with Jesus.
One statement made by Jesus
has remained with me
all those years –
“I have become
the littlest among you.”

These words speak to me
about the humility of Jesus
and about His deep love,
His deep longing
for us.
So determined
to be accessible to us
that He has made Himself
tiny
and easy to receive.

Almighty God
small enough to fit
on the tip of my tongue –
How amazing is that?
